A grim discovery in bushes along Harbour Head Road has brought a tragic end to the search for a St Thomas man who was reported missing earlier this month.

The police have identified the deceased as 53-year-old labourer Donald Minott of Harbour Head Road in Morant Bay. His body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, was found on Sunday.

According to the police, Minott was reported missing on January 12. Around 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, lawmen received information that a body had been spotted in bushes in the Harbour Head Road area.

A police team was dispatched to the location, where the decomposing body was seen. The remains were later removed from the scene, and a post-mortem examination is to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Investigators from the Morant Bay Criminal Investigation Branch have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
